In a fresh effort to drum up trade, a broad range of Dundee hospitality venues have announced plans for a ‘Dundee Restaurant Week’ during which they will all offer special deals to the public.
The promotional event, running from from June 29 until July 9, is being coordinated by the Marketing After Dark agency, which previously enjoyed some success organising Dundee Cocktail Week.
M-AD’s Alice Christison said: “It’s vital that we continue to support our amazing hospitality businesses – here in Scotland and in Dundee in particular we really punch above our weight in the trade.
“Dundee has a lot to be proud of but we as people in Scotland are rubbish at shouting about our good things – we want to change that.
“The offerings we have across the country are just incredible, with something for genuinely every taste, from restaurants like Gallery 48, Mas, The Giddy Goose, Franks, The West House, Tailend, Tahini to cafes including Henrys, EH9 Espresso, The Flame tree cafe, The Cannon,” said Ms Christison.
“We are proud to support our hospitality businesses by running events like Cocktail Week and now Dundee’s first ever Restaurant Week to help bring new people into Dundee to explore the wealth of options we have showcasing the very best in food and drink.”
To take advantage of the week’s offers, customers must first go to the event website and complete a free registration. This gets them a digital pass giving access to all the venues taking part in the week, and all the offers on food and drinks, from set menus to freebies and extras. Once registered, customers an visit as many venues as they want across the week.
Alice continued: “We really do have so much included, Dundee has really got behind restaurant week and we have some amazing deals.”
She added: “We have partnered with the Dundee’s Food Network to support Dundee’s Community Cafes, that offer free three-course meals to help feed those in need, which is more important than ever as the crisis continues to bite.”
